By this prohibition, it is forbidden to take a pledge from a widow, whether she be poor or rich. The Mishnah says: “A pledge may not be taken from a widow whether she is poor or rich, for it is written, nor take a widow's garment as a pledge.”* * B.M. 115a (Sonc. ed. p. 654)
