149 - A ZAR EATING THE MOST HOLY OFFERING

Exodus 29:33 -- “They shall eat those things with which the atonement was made, to consecrate and to sanctify them; but an outsider shall not eat them, because they are holy.”

If a zar eats meat of the most holy offerings outside the Sanctuary Court after the dashing of the blood on the Altar, he becomes liable for violation of Neg. Comm. 145 only; if he eats it within the Sanctuary Court before the dashing of the blood, he becomes liable for violation of Neg. Comm. 147 only. Thus, the commandment under consideration applies only to a zar who eats meat of the most holy offerings within the place appointed for their consumption (i.e. within the Sanctuary Court) and after they have become permissible food for the priests (i.e. after the dashing of their blood on the Altar).*
