QUIZ

1. The Nicene Creed

First Article: I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth and of all things visible and invisible.

Second Article: And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of His Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, Very God of Very God, begotten, not created, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made; who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven and was incarnate by the Holy Ghost of the Virgin Mary and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate. He suffered and was buried; and the third day He rose again according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again with glory to judge both the quick and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end.

Third Article: And I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Lord and Giver of Life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified, who spoke by the prophets. And I believe one holy Christian and Apostolic Church. I acknowledge one Baptism for the remission of sins, and I hope for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

2. The Apostles' Creed

First Article: I believe in God the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth.

Second Article: And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from there He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

Third Article: I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

3. Luther's Explanation to the First Article

I believe that God has created me and all creatures; that He has given me my body and soul, eyes, ears and all my members, my reason and all my senses, and still preserves them;
also clothing and shoes, meat and drink, house and home, wife and children, fields, cattle and all my goods; that he richly and daily provides me with all that I need to support this body and life;
that he defends me against all danger, and guards and protects me from all evil;
and all this purely out of fatherly, divine goodness and mercy, without any merit or worthiness in me;
for all which it is my duty to thank and praise, to serve and obey Him.
This is most certainly true.

4. Luther's Explanation to the Second Article

I believe that Jesus Christ, true God, begotten of the Father from eternity, and also true man, born of the Virgin Mary, is my Lord,
who has redeemed me, a lost and condemned creature, purchased and won me from all sins, from death, and from the power of the devil; not with gold or silver, but with His holy, precious blood and with His innocent suffering and death,
that I may be His own, and live under Him in His kingdom and serve Him in everlasting righteousness, innocence and blessedness,
even as he is risen from the dead, lives and reigns to all eternity.
This is most certainly true.

5. Luther's Explanation to the Third Article

I believe that I cannot by my own reason or strength believe in Jesus Christ, my Lord, or come to Him; but the Holy Ghost has called me by the Gospel, enlightened me with His gifts, sanctified and kept me in the true faith;
even as he calls, gathers, enlightens and sanctifies the whole Christian Church on earth, and keeps it with Jesus Christ in the one true faith;
in which Christian Church He daily and richly forgives all sins to me and all believers, and will at the Last Day raise up me and all the dead, and give unto me and all believers in Christ eternal life.
This is most certainly true.

The Gospel Questions the Qur'an
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life.“ The individual statements of this summary of the gospel as found in the Gospel of John 3:16 are used in this book to test Islam spiritually. The alarming results of this test explain on the one hand why Islam must be seen as an anti-biblical, antichristian and anti-congregational spirit. On the other hand, this booklet reveals why Jesus Christ commands us to evangelize Muslims lovingly.
